Install
- Download the zip and open it. It unpacks Social Hour Remix.
- Drag it to your Applications folder, then open it.
- Allow Apple Music access and local network access when asked. They're how the Mac plays the music and how iPhones find the party.
Remix keeps its own settings and parties, apart from the App Store version. Both can be installed on a Mac, but open only one at a time, so iPhones see a single party.
Good to know
The speaker volumes rely on parts of macOS that Apple doesn't publish for apps, which is why Remix isn't on the App Store. A macOS update can change them. If that happens, the speaker sliders disappear and everything else keeps working, and the AirPlay menu still has every speaker's volume.
Prefer the App Store? Social Hour for Mac has everything else, with the speakers' volumes in the AirPlay menu. More about AirPlay
